Coding Workshop

Technocamps visited the school on Friday and ran workshops for our key stage 4 computer science students and some year 8 pupils.  This was the final STEM session of five for both groups.

Year 10 learnt about computer architecture and assembly language.  By the end of the session pupils understood the difference between the Von Neumann and Havard architecture and were able to write programs using LMC.  All work covered will be examined in their GCSE examinations.

The year 8 session focused on Technology, Ethics and the Future. Throughout the session pupils studied the evolution of technology and the ethical issues surrounding technology. They also developed their own piece of smart technology using Arduinos, circuits and code.
