On Thursday 7th of July, Year 10 GCSE Art and Year 12 photography students visited The National Botanical Gardens where they had the opportunity to undertake essential first hand observational drawings as well as taking photographs as an introduction to the theme of ‘Natural Forms’. Pupils marvelled at the world’s largest single-span glasshouse, The Great Glasshouse, as well as discovering the unusual, often quite sculptural, flora and fauna contained within the best indoor display of Mediterranean climate plants in the Northern Hemisphere.  Some pupils also ventured further afield to investigate the beautifully restored Double Walled Garden as well as the Tropical House which houses many exotic orchids and palms.  A productive and enjoyable day was had by all which was enhanced by the exemplary conduct of the students.
