Ten pupils from the sixth form recently attended an event at Theatr y Ffwrnes in Llanelli, organised by Carmarthenshire County Council, to give them an insight into the difficult decisions facing a local authority. A major part of the day was dedicated to a group activity, where the council presented a number of proposals out for consultation to face budget cuts. The group acting as the Executive Board were led by Tiffany Edmonds, and were complimented on the mature and sympathetic way in which they tackled some complex issues. Their contribution culminated with a professionally delivered presentation by Tiffany and Rhiannon Jackson, who stood and delivered confidently to the entire group of delegates. With some significant changes proposed, it gave the group a thorough appreciation of the work and influence the people in these actual roles have on our communities. Mr D Williams would like to thank the pupils for their exemplary contribution and behaviour on the day.
