A group of Ysgol Gyfun Emlyn pupils have got together to create a business enterprise that has just seen its maiden book published and on sale for the first time on St David’s Day.

John Jones, Tom Knott Jones and Dewi Evans got together in September last year.  Their intention was to start a dynamic venture that would take them forward to the national Young Enterprise competition, and they’ve done just that.

Work started in earnest during the latter part of last year having decided that they wanted to become authors of a school publication that would create interest not just in school but also further afield.  Their idea was to create a ‘cookbook’ with a difference.

1-1

Delicious recipes have been written hand in hand with anecdotes or interesting tales collected from the recollections of our teaching staff.   The stresses of working to tight deadlines, together a lot of hours spent drafting and re-drafting culminated on March 1st with the launch of ‘Calon Cabatsien’.

The company has already gained recognition within the Young Enterprise National competition by winning the best Social Media advertisement on Facebook.

Our congratulations are offered to these daring young pupils on the start of what looks like being a very promising venture.  To secure your copy of Calon Cabatsien please contact the school.
