At the beginning of the Autumn term, Art and Photography students from Years 12 and 13 visited the National Wool Museum in Drefach Felindre. This was arranged to give students a positive start to their AS coursework studies, utilising a local industry in order to gain precious first hand research. Over two days, after an informative tour of the museum, they undertook several ‘mini’ briefs which included a Photathon, Sketchathon, documentary style photography and observational drawing tasks.  Art students also took part in a felting workshop under the excellent tutoring of Non! Many students were surprised to discover this interesting resource in their local vicinity and some are planning a return visit in the near future.  Ysgol Gyfun Emlyn would again like to extend its grateful thanks to the staff at the Nation Wool Museum.
