Sixth formers at Ysgol Gyfun Emlyn were given an insight into university life and skills during a recent visit to Aberystwyth University.  As part of their Welsh Baccalaureate qualification pupils are expected to complete an Individual Project based on a topic linked to a career aspiration that they have.  Lecturers at the university provided them with valuable guidance on sources of information and statistics that could be used in their project.  They were shown how to correctly use the Harvard Referencing System to accurately and correctly reference these vital sources.  To finish the day off they were given a guided tour of the National Library of Wales, with behind the scenes access to see some of their rare and valuable collection.  The pupils were fortunate to see many of the university’s students celebrating their graduation, a culmination of many years hard work, which we hope many of our students go on to attain in their futures.
