Ysgol Gyfun Emlyn held it’s first PSHE day for this academic year on Wednesday, 4th October. Year 7 had the Crucial Crew delivering important citizenship messages and lifelong learning skills from Western Power, the Food Standards Agency, Safe School Transport, Mid and West Wales Fire Service, Network Rail and Dyfed-Powys Police. Year 8 and 9 were also focusing on Citizenship with lessons on what human rights are and healthy eating as well as Year 8 working with Inspector Christine Fraser on the role of the police service in modern Wales. Year 9 ended the day with a talk from Paul Pugh. Paul visited the school in 2016 to deliver his Paul’s Pledge, educating young people on the consequences of abusing alcohol and the effects of anti-social behaviour. Paul’s message of forgiveness to those who had hurt him and responsible behaviour were well received by Year 9.
