Paul Pugh visited Ysgol Gyfun Emlyn to talk to Year 10 students about the dangers of alcohol and the effects it can have on people’s lives as part of the Paul’s Pledge campaign against violent crime. Paul was captain of Cwmamman United when he was the victim of an unprovoked assault in January 2007. Paul was left with serious injuries leaving him unable to walk, talk or care for himself.
Paul spoke to Year 10 about their responsibility to keep themselves safe, the effects of alcohol not just on victims of violent crime but their families and friends. He also spoke movingly about his personal drive to be able to live independently again and that everyone had the strength within them to be successful.
