This year, a training day for Pupil Language Ambassadors was organised across the region of South West and Mid Wales. The event was held at the new Bay Campus at Swansea University on Thursday, February 2nd and was opened by Kirsty Williams, the Cabinet Secretary for Education.  Places were limited, and 6 pupils from Ysgol Gyfun Emlyn were successful in their application to attend: Eleri Denton, Araminta Ellis, Emily Husnjak, Jasmine Johnston Genevieve Robinson, and Eliza Wolfe.

The day was a positive and rewarding experience for our pupils. The girls enjoyed various talks on Global Opportunities, STEM and languages, Why learn Spanish, and workshops such as a taster session on learning Mandarin. The ambassadors trained on this day will then go on to train a team of other language ambassadors in the school and to organise events and activities within the school community in partnership with their languages teachers.
