On Thursday, September the 21st ten year 11 Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award participants attended a volunteering day at the National Botanical Garden of Wales in Llanarthne. The day was organised by the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award as a celebration of Carmarthenshire’s ongoing success in delivering the Duke of Edinburgh Award at all levels.

During the day pupils helped to clear, repair and maintain different areas of the gardens and took part in some fun activities. As part of the celebration HRH the Earl of Wessex was in attendance and the pupils were given the opportunity to meet him and to discuss their volunteering activities with him.

Despite the bad weather the day was a great success and a positive experience for all involved.
