Local politics: a stimulating debate that a group of our Year 12 students took to remarkably earlier this week.  Arriving at Parc y Scarlets, our students were greeted by the executives of Carmarthenshire County Council and asked to debate next year’s financial budget.  In groups, they discussed issues surrounding primary school provision, winter gritting and local amenities such as leisure centres in rural areas.  Isabel Thomas and Kayley McDonagh led the group by presenting their findings to the audience and were applauded due to their mature and insightful knowledge on the subject matter.  The Year 12 students thoroughly enjoyed the day of debating and were yet again, a credit to our school community.
