On Thursday 25th June, Year 10 GCSE Art students visited The National Botanical Gardens where they had the opportunity to undertake essential first hand observational drawings as well as taking photographs as an introduction to the theme of ‘Natural Forms’. Pupils marvelled at the world’s largest single-span glasshouse, The Great Glasshouse, as well as discovering the unusual, often quite sculptural, flora and fauna contained within the best indoor display of Mediterranean climate plants in the Northern Hemisphere.  Many pupils also ventured further afield to investigate the beautifully restored Double Walled Garden as well as the Tropical House which houses many exotic orchids and palms.  A productive and enjoyable day was had by all which was assisted by beautiful weather and the exemplary conduct of the students.
