During the summer, Year 12 Art and Photography students were kindly invited by the Rhod Artists Group to participate in a series of workshops at their base at Melin Glonc in Drefelin, Llandysul. Several visiting contemporary artists worked with students to create temporary experimental sculptures which investigated the limitations and/or extensive possibilities of even the most basic of materials. This provoked deeper level thinking skills as well as inspiring confidence in the creation of so-called ‘unconventional outcomes’. It was felt that these workshops provided an excellent insight to how contemporary fine art practitioners find inspiration and promote aesthetic engagement.
